The best place is in the back to the truck.

I carry (2) 5 gallon jugs in the back of my truck for both the generator and as emergency backup for my tow vehicle in case I have trouble finding a gas station I can fit in. You really don't want an accidental spill inside your RV.

I-80 has a good number of truck stops on it in Wyoming. I go that way to Utah often. Never had a problem finding gas.

I would definitely recommend the "Gas Buddy" app. It's never let me down when I needed to find a gas station. I just wish more people would post pics of the entrance and exits to the pumps rather than the front of the store.

487 does not have gas stations, you would need to gas up in Laramie or Medicine Bow. And then drive 487 to the casper highway where you could get gas in Alcova (backtracking) or gas up in Casper. It is a nice route just very remote

You need to get the GAS BUDDY app for your smart phone. It gives you gas and diesel prices anywhere you are or traveling to. I can search for closest gas/diesel station to where I am or look for the cheapest price. I've used the app for over 5 years. I never go blindly anywhere looking for gas. Once you find the station you want it will then allow you to get directions to that station.
