This is certainly true regarding ALL Utralights (TT and 5th wheel). In fact, they go on to say modifying the FRAME in any way will void the warranty. Adding a Frame hitch to an ultra-lite is also "Not Recommended" and will void the frame warranty. Though many do and have no issues, the I-Beam web on these trailers are only thick enough to support the GVW of the camper.
Depending on the length of the camper, I assume that adding a significant weight at the end of a moment arm that long would cause undue stress at the rear axle supports and eventually cause I-Beam fractures.
