bike racks, what stle and which brand?

Hi everyone, I have upgraded to a 5er and now I have no place to put my bikes. I have seen numerous styles and brands from 1-1/4" to 2" bumper recievers to some nice ladder racks. I have a need for a minimum of 3 to possibly 5 bikes. anyone who has owned or known someone that has owned one please let me know what you thought.

I've personally had good luck with the Thule carriers. I have the 914 mounted in a 2" receiver and it's rock-solid. I'd assume that the 915, which carries 5 bikes, would perform similarly well.

If at all possible, the safest place to mount a bike rack of a fifth wheel is on the hitch itself.

Some are direct fit and most are owner fabricated 2" receiver tubing(to attach to pin box) and accept 2" bike racks.

We had the 2" reciever hitch mounted to the factory bumper, I had three kids bikes and one adult bike the weld on the bumper to the frame brooke did not loose the bikes but what a pain I will weld it back and I'm planning on adding a front reciever to the truck for the bike rack.

I have a FR Surveyor 233tt. Looking to get a bike rack also. Anyone have any ideas?????

The dealership told me I may have to get a new $200 dollar bumper welded to the back, if I didn't have a continous weld bumper. (Not sure how to check or what to look for.) Basically told me I would run into the same situation as IIFID, if I didn't.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a question also, I would like to add a 3 bike rack to the rear of my TT, 4" square tube bumper. Should I U bolt a rack to the bumper tube ( like the spare tire carrier is) or make a 2" receiver hitch to the frame rails and use a bike rack meant for the receiver hitch?
Or, should I just put the bikes in the back of my truck? The 2 adult bikes will never be ridden other than while camping, that is why I would like them on the trailer.

Has anybody had any experience with a swagman over the spare bike rack? Just wondering because it doesn't look that strong

i have 2" reciever welded on frame. bought a 4 bike rack (allen). first time used it lost 3 bikes. the bolt at the 90 sheered off. went back to place that i bought it and got money back. called allen company and found out the rack was for cars and trucks only.
(SO BEWARE). my neighbor bought the same rack and drilled bigger hole and put bigger and better bolt and went to florida with no problems. it is nice rack with cheap bolt

thanks for all the replys.. lots to think on I believe though the best is a front mount to my pin box. this way if the bikes fall they are still in my truck.
