Blank Tank Flush

My apologies for bringing up the most commonly talked about issue.. but I'm a newbie about to make our Maiden Voyage with a Rockwood 8312ss... Our unit is equipped with the Black Tank Flush... I'm just wanting to confirm that when using it, is the Dump valve suppose to be open or closed... It makes sense to me either way, but I know that one is probably better than the other.

Thanks for the input

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your new camper. When I use my tank flush, I alternate between having the dump valve open and then closed. I only close it for a minute or so and then open the dump valve again. I feel that this way, anything that is on the bottom of the tank will get flushed out.
