Brake light out

I have a Columbus 320RS by Palomino and the LED brake light is already out. I don't want to pay Camping World $130 to change out the lighting unit, is there a way to fix it myself? Appreciate any input.

Led lights normally don't just "go out" I think you may have another issue.
But it's "possible"

Have all the lights gone out, brake and running? If yes I would say you lost the ground to the unit.

Check your 7 pin connector first. Mine seems to oxidize all the time so some light doesn't work. Just clean the connectors on the trailer and see if that works.

If it's only one light then the 7 pin wouldn't be the issue.

True. I wasn't clear that it was only one light and it's an easy thing to check and fix before spending the money.

No doubt!
No idea is a bad idea!
Unless of course it costs "me" money! [emoji6]

It is just the brake light that is out. Is there a fix other than replacing entire light unit?

If it's actually the led circuit board, no.
As asked earlier do the tailights work?

"normally" individual leds will start to go out but usually never all of them at once.
I'm leaning toward a wiring issue.

Sorry, yes all the rear lights work with the exception of the brake light.

I'd pull light and check for brake light power and go from there.

If all the lights work except the stop lights, you do not have a problem with the 7 pin connector except just maybe a bad ground. Here is why the tail and running lights work thru pin 3, the left hand turn and brake light is on pin 5 and the right hand turn and brake light in on pin 6. So if both turn signals work the 7 pin connector is not the problem. In the old light bulb days you had a single bulb on each side of the vehicle with two filaments in the bulb. One filament was for the tail light, the other was for the turn signal. When you stepped on the brake pedal power was sent to both filaments in both bulbs at the same time. This is the same as the LED lights work today as far as the wiring and connections to the TV goes. Hopefully this helps with the trouble shooting here. With the LED light unit there are blocking diodes and such associated with the lights and I would need the part number of the light assembly or schematic to tell what is going on inside the light unit.

Partially "mostly" correct.

Two filament bulb.

One filament is for running light. Period.
Other filament is for turn / brake.
