Brands preferred for satellite and gps?

The RV stores were packed today. Definitely Spring Fever in Georgia. Looked at Satellites and GPS models today. Told my DH that I'd been getting great tips from this site all winter, and I wanted to ask before purchasing.
GPS - we have a 30' class c
TV - We have cable at our house and camp about 80 days a yr. Thanks in advance for all your words of wisdom.

we camp about 80 days a year as well ,we use a dish tailgater (349.95) and a vp211 receiver it adds about 6 bux a month to our bill I figure that's about a dollar a day
for gps I purchased a 7 in Magellan refurb at Walmart.com with lifetime updates for about a hundred dollars.
on the tail gater I seen one last week for 249 refurbed I think it was at ppl motorhomes
good luck and great camping in 2015
