One thing to remember is that a lot of states do not update the clearance of an underpass after they reblack top. I use to work for a trucking company when we brought in a trailer that was 13'6 high that ran into an underpass that was marked 14'.

Is that due to ____, or _____, or budget cuts just overlaying existing road vs R&R? I would think they would remove and replace with a thinner layer (budget cuts again) giving more room.

I was just noticing where we are right now, WA State, there are some posted heights that are higher than the "Actual" in the PDF. WA 14 EB is over a foot lower than the posted... Very good info, thanks for the link for all those who posted!

Hi. I just got a Garmin 660 RV GPS for about 249.99 at Cabela's a few weeks ago. It allows me to put in my rigs size so that when it calculates routes it avoids areas I just can't go.

I was driving in McHenry County IL last week and went down a road (in just my truck) and the GPS setting switched to just my "car" so the directions didn't take in mind the RV restrictions. I stopped and switched it back to my RV just to see... oh heck! I barely fit through this bridge-tunnel (over a hundred years ago) with just my RAM 2500 but when I told the thing I had my rig on... nope. Just, nope! So it will make you go around areas that are a hazard or you won't fit. If that helps you out information wise.
