We had to "raise our roof" since living in MS all we need is protection from the sun and rain. Raised the outside edge three feet which raised the center 18 inches. Before this the cover was an inverted "V" shape. It was tall enough for our old coach but not for this new one.

We live 3 hours in from the Gulf Coast. With that in mind, Ivan (hurricane) in 2004 came in at Mobile, Katrina (2005) came up from the MS coast and it stood tall. The one almost close call we had - several years ago we had snow and one or two of the panels actually sat down on to the RV and we just knew we'd have to replace those panels. When the snow melted, the panels popped back into place. (I had to have a new roof on my house from Ivan and I'm not 150 feet from the RV cover.

I live on the Gulf Coast too, 1 mile in from the Gulf. We get tropical storms with some winds without warning in the summer. Thats why I was wondering.

One last thought on our cover. Truthfully, we just remodeled it this week because we just bought this coach. Originally it was an inverted "V" shape which did handle all the wind, etc. we raised it this week so only time will tell if it withstands the elements. If we had just now built a cover I'd go back with the inverted "V".

I know what you mean. I built an addition to my sheet metal shop couple of decades ago, At the time 10' ceilings seemed fine, but we bought a Solera MH and seems the dummy that built the warehouse had no future vision.....should have been a 12' o/h door. That required raising the roof 30". Contractor rebuilt the whole thing!
