Bumper bike rack

I have a 2017 Rockwood 8329SS. In one of the kitchen cabinets there is a sticker that says "Addition of any non_factory installed components to the bumper assembly is prohibited and may void chassis warranty" Does the mean I cannot add a bike rack? Does FR have specific bike racks it allows?

Yes, that is correct. Search the forum and you'll find a thousand threads dealing with bike racks and options other than mounting a receiver on the bumper. They range from storing them inside to a-frame mounts to crossbars over your pickup bed to front-mounted receivers for your truck. Some have welded/bolted receivers to the trailer's frame.

Actually I did search the forum before posting and that is why I asked. The search came up with nothing. Thanks for the info. Does not make sense that the bumper could not handle a bike rack. It is a welded bumper and you are only talking a couple hundred pounds. But if that is the warranty I will have to figure out something else. Not going to risk my warranty.

your trailer has an ultralight chassis. you need to look closer at the thickness of the bumper metal and the welds.
they are thin and weak.

trailer bumpers are cosmetic and serve no actual safety purpose.

and you need to understand physics of bike racks on rear bumpers.
trailers have no shocks, so the bikes and rack will bounce and flex the bumper. this can result in the welds failing.

the only safe way is to have a receiver welded and braced to the frame. but doing this on an ultralight frame might void its warranty if the mod causes some kind of frame issues.

personally, my bikes aren't cheap and i would never put the on the trailer's rear bumper. there are safer and better options than that.

All this being said I emailed Lippert and they are showing me one in Goshen they say will work! Like the Columbus style for a Rockwood.

Didn't they provide a ladder bike rack mount option in the pile of warranty pamphlets you got?

I'd fabricate or buy a mount bike rack for the tongue of the trailer if you have room. Below are 2 examples.

logspec1, a search using "bike rack" (including the quotation marks), provides this:

I installed a Curt front mount hitch on our 08 GMC Sierra and carry our two bikes on a Swagman XC bike rack. Works great and can see my bikes.
