Bumper mounted grill??

While browsing the new trailers at the Louisville RV show recently we
noticed several with back bumper mounted gas grills.

Really?? The first thought I had was how filthy dirty it will get. 50 yards
down a gravel road or any distance in the rain and that thing is gonna be
nasty!
Sometimes I wonder what they were thinking when they come up with
this stuff.

Just wait until the weight police see this.

Funny thing, I saw the same thing and thought I need to mod my aframe. I would only have the grill on the mount while camping. Louisville had a nice show.

I actually want to do this with our camper- build a double-swing out arm and then attach a grill to it. I'd want some kind of full cover for the grill. I dislike the mess of the grill being in my basement storage, but like having a grill with me.

My camper has the bumper mounted grill. It's on a swing arm and can be removed. That said, I only use it as an outdoor oven. I put things in foil pans and close the lid on it as an oven. I didn't like the idea of a dirty grill drawing animals when it's in storage.

Guess I'm just not a trailer mounted grill person. My RVQ is still in the box
and we've had the trailer 7 years! I'm trading trailers tomorrow and will
give them the grill just to get it out of my garage loft.

We have the bumper mounted grill. The grill easily comes off and stows in the back of my truck.
RV grills like this are expensive. I would sell it before letting the dealer have it.

X2
Plus, these RVQ they give with trailers is real junk, cheap metal and poor heat distribution.
I replaced mine with one I bought at Costco, double burners and all stainless steal....I bought a 25' extension quick connect hose from a local gas tech.
Now I have a real bbq that cooks real good , easy to clean and still portable.

I have a small Weber that I stow in a plastic container in the basement. No mess and allows me to stack items for more storage.

Have the back mounted grill on my last two trailers and love it. On my last trailer it was a removable bbq that could not be left on while towing. On the new one the bbq can stay on while towing and I leave it on. Have no issues with dirt to this point. I do have the same as another poster, Costco nexgrill that I bypassed the regulator and hooked a quick connect to it. I do find the low pressure of the RV system does not put out the same level of btu to it though.

Our rear mounted grill is permanently mounted on the swing-arm. It has a cover on it so that should help on keeping the funk out of it.

Bumper Mounted Grill

We had one on our 2013 Salem Cruise Lite. We just traded it in for a new camper but took the grill off and plan to put it on our new one!
