Bunk Bed Curtains - The Horror The Horror

Our Georgetown came with bunk bed curtains that look like they were designed for a Russian brothel. Absolutely horrible! My first camera broke trying to take a photo of them! The matching bedspread is where it belongs - in the landfill.

Does anyone have experience in changing out bunk bed curtains especially with the way FR designed the built in hangers and running track?

Please help. My eyes are still hurting.

My mother is making us a replacement curtain for our trailer. Yes the fabric was a nasty mix of 60s and a stripclub. So cheap they started to come apart just from being slid back and forth 4 times. Cant understand that for another buck or two they could have used a much nicer and heavier fabric. We went with a grey muslin trippled thick so it would cut down on drafts and a little sound proofing.

I'm thinking of ripping my BB curtains out. Cheap roller tracks are useless. What on earth could someone be doing on a bunk where you would need privacy?

You could save the bunk curtains for a Halloween decoration.

So either my kids had a fight or one of them jumped down from the top bunk landing on the curtain and pulled the roller track right out of the ceiling. Ugh!!! So I think im going to put in a by fold door or one of those plastic acordion curtains and trim the bottom flush with bottom bunk. My oldest daughter has the larger bottom bunk bed and its her cave. She gets changed does her makeup in there so she wants privacy. Ill post before and after pics later this week once we finish our last trip of the year. Its beautiful at Algonquin this morning. Little chilly though!

I realize this is an older thread, but if you solved this, I'd love to know how! Our new Salem also has bunk curtains on tracks. The curtains are thin, cheap, too long so they bunch up and get tangled in sheets, and the tracks have no end caps so the curtains constantly slide right off the tracks.

I've already taken them down and trying to decide how to sew or craft something that will cover those bunk windows. I'm with the other poster that wonders why they put windows in a bunk! Our top bunk has two!!!

In our previous trailer I sewed a new curtain for ours and made it shorter. Ordered more of the track hooks for it as well.. I put small grommets on it to hang it as I hate doing buttonholes.. I used a fabric shower curtain till I sewed the new shorter curtain.. Our curtains and ugly bedspread that came with the trailer actually said dry clean only.. How dumb is it to put dry clean only fabric in a camper?? I couldnt find my pics of it to show u tho..

Appreciate the input & the chuckle about the dry clean only. That sounds like a joke someone at the factory thought of lol! I don't like that track and really don't see any reason for us to open those curtains. I'm thinking a flat panel attached over the window with velcro, maybe? Insulated, for sure!

I cut a piece out of one of the cheap dollar tree shiny windshield covers and velcroed it to the trim around the upper bunk window. Ours only had 1 window.. It helped alot with the heat. I covered it up with a curtain as we never opened it anyway..

This sounds like the solution that I'm looking for! Since I'm semi-decent with a sewing machine, I'm thinking I can fashion a pretty cover and use the thermal piece for a lining. Thanks for the excellent tip! Off to the dollar store...
