Bunk Mattresses

Hey all...

While waiting for warmer weather and camping seasons I am looking at upgrades.

My 12 year old son has scoliosis and the bunk mattresses don't really do him any favors. We typically have to stack 2-3 of them for him NOT to wake up hurting the next day.

I am looking at this mattress and was wondering if anyone else has purchased a mattress from this company.

If so, thoughts? Impressions? How does it sleep?

I don't have any experience with that particular mattress.
When we wanted to upgrade our bunk mattresses I went to a local foam company and they cut what we needed to size. If memory serves we paid about $40 per bunk for them to do it that way. Might be another option for you if you have a foam place near you.

We upgraded to a Zinus Ultima comfort memory foam mattress and have been completely satisfied. It is 10". Somewhat pricey( $229 for short queen). Well worth the cost for us.

that is a pretty good price for a mattress. any mattress topper can be cut down to size. we also like to put the foam floor tiles under our mattress (ours is not anywhere near that nice) so keep from "bottoming out" on the plywood.

We purchased a "Spa Sensations Gel Memory Foam" queen size from Walmart and cut it down into two different bunk mattresses in our old fifth wheel. The cost was right at $200. It worked great for us. Our bunks were 30" wide, the queen was 60" wide. I used an electric knife to smoothly cut right through there.

I've slept in my father-in-law's bunkhouse during deer season the last few years. This year there was a 3" memory foam topper from Kohls on the bunk. For the first time I woke up with no back or neck pain.

I stored on my Amazon wishlist for my TT bunk replacement mattresses, Zinus 6" thick 30x70" narrow bunk (for RV bunks) $77.26 each for next summer.
I bought the 8" short queen (RV size) and we love it in the TT.
Since then I bought two standard twins in 10" deep after a spare bedroom remodel, got their folding steel frames for those as well.
