Buying a newer camper

So last week I decided to upgrade trucks. I had a 2011 Chevy 1/2 ton. Traded it in for a 2004 F350 diesel. Step down in years but it’s like new and has pulling power!! Since then I put up my 26’ coachman Catalina for sale and started looking at bigger campers with slides. I found a 2004 pilgrim open road 340 Rbhs. I understand it’s not a forest river product. And can remove if not allowed, but we went ahead and bought it from general rv. Pick it up Thursday!!

But my question to everyone is with slides what kind of maintenance do I need to do? I’ve never had slides and now I have two. I’d hate to see something happen since I’m sure repairs are not cheap.

Thanks, Nick

Get educated on the type of slides you have on your unit. Read, google, talk to others on the best procedures to keep the slides operating correctly. Keeping the rails, gears and slides clean and properly lubricated goes a long way in minimizing slide problems! Also be sure nothing inside the trailer is in the way and will interfere with the incoming movement of the slides. Twisting the slide because a chair, table, or another object, can be very damaging to most slides.
