Cabin Trailer!

We passed this cute cabin trailer while crossing the Kansas
plains on the way to Canon City Colorado recently.
I wonder if it's commercial built or home made?
Either way it looked good!
Not that I want one but I can see the appeal, especially
for someone in Colorado. It had CO plates.

Dan,

They are mostly factory built, but some sell the plans to build yourself.

You might know, my daughter saw this last year and now wants one set up in our back yard.
Might be a good way to get her out of the house.

I remember seeing something like that and I think it was at the Hershey PA RV Show last October. At Thousand Trials where we have our seasonal site they have small cabins like that but not as fancy then they have some that have the loft in them which are longer.

I think that one in particular is called the "Wayzalot." It was featured on a Travel Channel special a few years back. I think I see a Michigan plate on the trailer, where the people are from. Those "cabin trailers" were inspired from this design. It was the first.

a time share resort near us, on the Napa River, has similar types of cabins. they're not log but regular siding. they have about 60 of them parked in sites, with little decks attached.

here's a pic of the setup:

during the rainy season, they move them to the local fairgrounds in case of flooding.

Small living...

That trailer could be coming from this guy...

Jay Shafer – Tumbleweed Tiny House Company | ResourcesForLife.com

He was featured on Yahoo, and it is fascinating what we want/have to live in and what we 'truly' need...

I saw that too and was wondering if that might be one of his. They are cute and have everything one needs but I'm not sure I could do it. I guess if it were the only way I could have my own home I would do it.
