Cable TV

We have 2019 Forester. Have been unable to use cable TV. Our other 4 RVs had a button to toggle between cable and antenna. Unable to locate in this RV and not near a dealer. Any ideas where to look?

If I'm not mistaken about what you're asking, that's a setting within the TV. When hooking up to cable, I've found it necessary to turn off the antenna boost.

Hope that helps.

I think the antenna boost is what the op is referring to. Is it possible there is a coax outlet in your RV or in a storage bin even you haven't located yet?

Seems like it is the antenna boost button and it may be behind the TV in the bedroom as in my 2018 Cardinal 3825 FL or I have had the button behind the main TV. When it is on it may have a small green light on near the on of button?

Cable

We have checked every outside and inside cabinet and storage area for the button. We know to look for the green light. This RV has 12 volt TVs, would that make things different? We have brought the rv park cable through the front window and did a direct hook up to TV but the bugs are horrible here so we can't.

Could be green or red. I've had both.

SO if this worked and you got the correct channels with a direct hook up this indicates there may be a problem with the wiring internal to your RV.

Many reports of some behind a plate cable hookup wire NOT being connected properly or even not at all, preventing a signal from coming thru to the TV.

I would be looking for faulty wiring, and unless your dealer is exceptional I would NOT rely on them.

Ask around for someone that is experienced in minor electrical repair work... someone in the campground maybe.

With the risk of stating the obvious, we have a cable AND a satellite hook up, right next to each other, several times in the 6 years I have mistakenly hooked up the CG cable to the satellite connection, and went through several scans on the TV before I woke up and checked my connection ;-)

Which model of Forester do you have, since you didn't list it in your profile. It's always best to provide more information on what RV you have.
That way, others that own your model can be more helpful.

Once you hookup the cable, on the TV you must go to settings and switch to cable AND the scan for channels. Hoping that helps.

Plan B -- find an RV neighbor that can help you.

My switch is on the outlet where you hook up coax cable from outlet to TV. It's just a little black button.

Nothing a quick call to your dealer won't solve.
