Cable TV Confusion

Hi folks. It's funny, I was a computer engineer for 40 years, yet the cable TV hookups on my FR Vibe 251RKS TT have me baffled.

So here's what I have:

1. On one side of the RV, on the outside, I have a double cable jack.
2. On the other side of the RV (under awning), I have another cable jack.
3. In the living room, I have one cable jack.
4. In the bedroom I have two cable jacks and a button.

Trying to figure out how to connect RV Site cable so both the RV bedroom and living room get the cable signal. It appears that the double outlet on the outside of the RV might be one jack for the living room and once jack for the bedroom but I'm not sure.

It appears the button in the bedroom controls whether the roof antenna or the cable is being used.

But overall I am confused over how the RV is wired for cable.

I am assuming others have similar setups. I am hoping someone can give me advice on how it is wired and how to use it properly.

Thanks,
Rob

RV tv hookups differ a lot between brands and models.
pics would be more helpful than descriptions.

here's my guesses:

1. that's your inputs for cable and satellite
2. that's possibly for mounting an outside tv, shouid be next to a bracket
3. that's probably the living room tv connection
4. that's probably for cable/OTA and satellite, with the button for power to the OTA.

i have to ask. didn't your dealer go over this, during the PDI/walkthrough? if not, BAD dealer!

It’s early, so I was going to get back to this, but bikendan posted exactly what I was going to post. I have no doubt that what he said is 100% correct.

Just to add- on most of the units I've seen, the satellite receptacle was on the right and cable tv on the left- on the outside.

The double jack is a site cable input and a "home run" satellite dish input.
If you look close one will say "CABLE" and the other "SAT".

The one under the awning is for an exterior TV.

They could also be mislabeled. The first time I tried to use my cable set up I did not have a picture. Then I switched the cable to the sat. jack and the picture came in crystal clear...I was using the campground cable

My 5'vers TV coax was completely wired backwards.

I spent a whole camping day trying to figure it out and got it working, but when I took it in for warranty repairs and asked the dealer to wire it up right...

They wired it back up to factory specs...

In other words...they wired it back up the way it came from the factory...BACKWARDS!

Of course, when I tried it out on the next campout...no cable TV from the park!

Thus...another lost camping day crawling around the basement figuring out what they did and reconfiguring it to make it work.

So I gave the dealer one more crack at it...they had the camper for 10 weeks (when they told me it should only be three weeks for about 15 mostly minor warranty issues)...
and they kept calling me and asking me to describe how I found it miswired...

That was the last time my 5'ver ever saw a dealers lot.

Got the 5'ver back just in time for a trip to the Tucson, AZ rodeo, and when we arrived in Tucson and hooked up the cable...

NO CABLE!

So, up went my King/Jack batwing replacement head antenna (best RV antenna on the planet) and enjoyed the local cuisine of Tucson OTA TV for the week, and when I got home to Denver I spent yet another day in the basement fixing it right...all the way from the cable inlet on the outside to the last splitter (replaced all three cheapie factory splitters with good ones) inside the living room entertainment center.

And it has worked flawless ever since!

Footnote:

My previous TT, which I also bought brand new just 2 1/2 years earlier, had the same issue...

The coax was wired completely backwards...and I spent days fixing it myself as that dealer had no clue how to fix it, either.

Gave them two cracks at it to fix...and the third time (me fixing it myself) was the charm!
