With all the new tree killing bugs in our area many parks are now restricting the
use of fire wood. Some places you cannot bring your own wood and either must
buy it at the park ($$$$$) or do without.

This is a decent alternative.
Do you have one??
I know it's not gonna crack and pop like wood but does the flame look like
a camp fire and do you feel the warmth when you sit around it??
You don't by any chance have a picture of one that's burning do you?

I have a "Lil' Red Campfire" also that we love. Being able to just shut it off and go to bed is great. No worries about an untended fire or a steaming smoking mess in the fire pit.

Propane IS expensive, but with the restrictions to use "Recycled Logs" or buy your firewood at or near the campground it is way cheaper than either alternative.

Most FamCamps we stay at (Military Campgrounds) prohibit open fires; but grills are allowed. The Lil Red is a "grill."

Shop around and you can one less than retail.

I would caution on the interpretation, "The Lil Red is a "grill."

If you are considering buying one for a specific location, check with them to be sure they consider the Lil Red a "grill" as well!

I have gone round and round with Tanglewood RV Campground (http://rvtanglewood.com/) in Clemmons, NC over what a Lil Red "is". Tanglewood has a NO WOOD‐BURNING campfire rule. I thought ok, fair enough, a Lil Read should fit the bill. NO! They consider it a campfire. I consider it a LP grill. It's their CG and their rules; I lost.

Be sure to ask before you buy one for that "special" place!
