The campground where my camper is set up has a convenience store and small cafe for hot dogs, burgers, BBQ sandwiches & etc.

The campground gets water from the same supply the cafe does - which is monitored by the local health dept.

No worries, no probs, no ill-effects.

I'm new to camping, but have been boating all my life. On our boat we use an outside filter and drink, etc. from the dockside or holding tank. In our new V-Lite, we spent three months last fall in VA, NY, NJ, MASS - Filtered outside (like on the boat) and also the KW1 internal filter - Neither my wife or I had any problems.

I occasionally use "bottled water", but it's more of a habit. I agree that we've become "sissyfyied" when it comes to drinking water.

We drink it, cook with it, and wash with it - no filtering. The only time I worry is when I've got a spot where people have abused the spigot in some way (not everyone feels it necessary to take care of things that are not theirs, sadly.)
