Camping 2014

Out for the first time in 2014. Pulled into Mayberry Campground in MT Airy NC around dusk. Will check out the camp and town this weekend.
Anyone else camping this weekend?

We have our first reservations made for Mother's Day weekend. At my request.
Two of our grandkids will be joining us ... so excited!

Having a nice weekend here at Canton, TX, waiting for the rain to come. Hopefully, it won't be raining too hard when I'm leaving in am.

Crossover

This is one of our crossover weekends. We camp in New Hampshire and Spring ski while we are here. Other years the snow in the campground has been almost gone. Not this year. Plenty of snow in the CG and lost on the mountain. May need to come back for one more ski weekend.

Wish we were camping. We really like Mayberry for a weekend campground. The owner is a super nice guy. Haven't been this year. Mt Airy "Mayberry" is everything Andy Griffith. Walmart is just a little ways across the Hwy not to far if you need supplies. Down 52 is Pilot Mountain State Park great for hiking.
Wish we were out but colds / whatever are going round here.

Was a little chilly last night. Plan on going to Pilot Mountain today. Love the campground this was our first time but we will be back.

I have not been skiing in years. That might be a fun trip next year. Down side NC and WV mountains have wet snow most of the time.

Hate packing up in the rain although not that bad with the 5er. When I camped as a scout leader it was a bad when it rained, had to reset everything up at the house so it could dry.

We spent the last week at FDR SP in Pine Mountain GA. Returned home yesterday. Surprisingly warm for this time of year.

We are camping at Texas Motor Speedway this week end. Looks like rain today. May have to stay an extra day to see the race. I agree, packing up in the rain is a pain. Hate to pull the slideouts in when they are wet.

Sure! Picked up our very first TT on Friday morning and spend two nights at Ft. Cobb State Park in OK. This has always been a favorite for us when tent camping, so it provided a known location for our first time out.

Can't wait for next Friday!

A lot of folks call FDR run down, actually I like it. It's been the inaugural camping trip for both of my campers so far.

One thing I'd like to see them improve, widen the roads a couple of feet. It wasn't an issue, but was tighter than I like to deal with.

We'll use FDR when visiting Calloway...nice area and we always camp in the back section near exit gate...little more quiet

Camped at Jordan Lake this past weekend, along with a bunch of other people. The place was nearly full. Due to DW and my schedule, we figured it would be the only available weekend for a while. I was happy to see that the TT survived the winter.
