Camping at White Pines SP in Illinois?

Has anyone camped at White Pines SP with a TT or 5th wheel? It says it is tent only but I have seen comments that people have camped with a trailer. In addition one review said it was horrible because of train noise but I was hoping I could get feedback from some that has been there.

Hi,

White Pines is pretty limited, but Lowden State Park is not far away from it, and is far better situated for trailers.

We take our Silverback 33 RL there every so often, and while the campground itself is sort of small (compared to places like Rock Cut or Starved Rock), we have no room maneuvering or finding spots long enough. The front of the campground does butt up against the highway, but the back end has a more private feel.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Of course that should be "no problem" instead of "no room".

Doggoned small screens, tiny keyboards, and fat fingers.
