Camping in comfort is a wonderful thing!

We just got back from a short camping trip with our youngest Grand Daughter. We really enjoyed the comfort of our beautiful Forest River Cascade trailer!

It sure is nice to not have to fight setting up our old Jayco tent trailer, not to mention tearing it down in a pouring down rain! Plus it is Much Warmer and has more "Move Around Room"!

That queen size bed is so darned comfortable that I sleep better in it than I do at home in our King sized Sleep Number bed!

We saw some Very Beautiful Sunsets and a lot of gorgeous scenery! We can't wait to get back out camping!

Being comfortable is a great way to travel.
Last fall I took the old wall tent to Yosemite in late October with a wood stove, a cot a table and a comfortable chair. We watched the full moon rise through the giant old ponderosa and sugar pines around the campfire. Then later in the evening I would take a shovel of coals and put it in the wood stove. I read John Muir while watching the shadows of pine branches dancing on the canvas in the moonlight. That was living.

Camping Comfort

I wish you many happy days in your traveling home. I live in SC. Have visited Washington St a couple.of times. A very gorgeous area. I love all the water. I agree, the Serta matress in my trailer sleeps much better than my high dollar temprapedic mattress at home.

Happy Camping!

Nice setup. The color scheme makes me think, Wolf Pup on steroids, since Forest River used the same colors on my Wolf Pup, with rear rack with spare tire, too.
Do you always cover your TT tires when camping?

Thank you for posting everyone!

Boomerweps, We just bought the tire covers and wanted to check them out for fit. We got them at Harbor Freight and Tools while they were on sale for $7.95 for the set of 4. Plus I had a coupon for 20% off, so they were cheap enough!

My wife is a very talented Seamstress, so when this cheap set goes to pot she can use it as a pattern to make a Good set.

We have never used tire covers before on any of our travel trailers, but with this trailer we decided to give them a try and to save the cost of new tires from sun baking and rot.

lazyjj, maybe the beds feel so much better to us because we are out Enjoying Ourselves!

ppine, it sure sounds like you know "What Quality Camping and Life" are all about!

spock123, Enjoy your time with your Grandchildren! They grow up so very Fast! Our youngest grand daughter will soon be 14 years old!
Our Oldest Great Grandson will be 3 years old! The youngest great grandson is almost 1 year old. We plan on helping them build Fond Memories as soon as possible!

Thank you for the compliments on my photography Steeljag! I love to take photos and share them!

Camping in comfort

Welcome to glamping! Our grand"kids" are 14 and 16 and they still love going camping with us. Of course the new TT last year with a bunkhouse didn't hurt our cause.

We have been Glamping for quite a few years now. Way back in 1972 we bought our first trailer to camp in, then in 1984 we bought a 24 footer so that we could be more comfortable camping with our teen aged daughters.
From there we downsized to a Tent Trailer (a Huge Mistake for us because we had become so used to Glamping)!
Now we are back to a Big Turtle shell with Lots of Comfort! Our new baby should last us for Many, many more years to come!

We started when our two oldest kids were around 5 and 8, in an old one ton Ford work van that someone converted to a camper. As the years passed we moved up to a 13 ft trailer, then a 19, then a 31, and now the new Rockwood. This is our first brand new TT and we all love it! We definitely made the right choice.

Camping in comfort sure is nice. 15 years ago then DG and I went to Ft. Wilderness and camped for a long weekend.

In a tent.

The Fort was, well, the Fort, and thoroughly enjoyable. At least I thought so. DG is now DW and, as I found out 2 weekends ago, her recollections of that trip - eh, not so enjoyable.

How did that subject come up again 15 years later? We were once again at the Fort, for her birthday, but this time in our new to us TT. Not the first time we'd been out since the purchase, but first time back to the Fort.

Totally different experience for her, which means a great time was had by both of us. As she remarked to one of our friends over the weekend 'I get it now.'

In a free country everyone gets to decide what they like. But I do not get the concept of "glamping." There is nothing glamorous about it or it would not be camping.

I really like comfort camping. Horace Kephart talked about roughing it vs. smoothing it back in the late 1890s. We have heard about roughing it our whole lives, but some how people have forgotten about smoothing it. I like a comfortable chair, a table to cook on, a comfortable bed, a nice fire, and a good shelter but there is nothing the least bit glamorous about it. If I wanted glamour I would stay a fancy hotel.

Love the pix. Are you a member of PSA (Photographic Society of America)? Our next conference is in Spokane, WA with trips to the Palouse area. I can't wait - always wanted to go there.

Have a great time this summer with your trailer.

I think you're taking the term glamping a little too seriously. Lighten up, and have fun. Life's too short.

I use to enjoy backpacking, I finally got DW on the trail one time, DW said never again. DW will go with me anywhere to camp in the fifth wheel as long as she has full hookups. I dry camp occasionally as I have two 2000i Honda’s that I parallel together. But mostly I look for full hookups

Congratulations on the new rig!

We tent camped for 15 years before we got our first Motorhome in 2007. I remember sitting in a State Park camp site the first morning. It was 40 degrees and the trout fisherman were coming out of their tents in their parkas and trying to build fires with numb fingers. I was sitting at the dinette drinking coffee in my pajamas. I turned the ceramic heater up a bit, looked around and thought "This isn't too bad at all".
