Another vote for Fort Pickens National Park, Pensacola. Reserve America for reservations and any loop that fits your rig is good.

Bella Terra is a 5 star resort there that we recently stayed at. Might be sold out but worth a try as its close to a lot of activities there.

Thank You for all the suggestions, Our plans have changed (as they do sometimes!) So now we are in Meridian Mississippi (at our niece's house) and will be going to Gulf port MS. area. Will be looking for camping near here or on the way toward Texas. I'll keep you posted!

Sugar Sands RV Resort

Spent last week at this resort in Gulf Shores, Alabama. This is a new resort and a very clean resort. The people provided a Thanksgiving Day dinner for the RV residents. I didn't attend the dinner because we were in Gulf Shores to attend Thanksgiving at my brothers home.

I will definitely return to this resort the next time I'm in town.

Not happy with Gulf State Park

When I made my reservations in October I was told that the monthly rates were increasing $90.00 a month but that if I paid for my stay before Nov 1 I would not have to pay the increase. They came by yesterday afternoon and told me I would now have to pay the increase even though I had paid in advance. I am trying to locate another Rv park but now I am having a hard time with trying to get last minute reservations .

The rates here are now higher than probably any campground in the area. All the other campgrounds have cable and wifi also. Soon as possible I am out of here never to return. I bet in the long run it will cost them business.

Rant over!!!

They are trying to make up the difference since the Gov wants to close all the st parks(except 3). I hear they are wanting to build a convention center(of sorts) there too.

At least they have a zip line! yippie!
