A long time ago we visited Disney World on a Tropical Depression weekend. Swimming pools were running over! The crowds were absent and we hopped from one major attraction to the next with no lines.
This summer we hiked to avalanche lake in Glacier NP and there were about 10 people there taking selfies in the rain. On a sunny day it would have been 100 people.

OTOH- you ain't gonna be sitting by the camp fire and you for sure don't want a dirt camp site. You don't mention kids- they will not like being cooped up inside!
Severe weather in a camper is really scary!! We've ducked and covered inside more than once and I really don't want to do that!!!
That line about kids not wanting to be cooped up cracked me up. In my part of the country, you have to beat them with sticks to get them outside. I would patrol my town with big beautiful swimming pools in the summer....not a kid to be seen. Heck, these kids can't even stand for 5 minutes at a bus stop, their moms park at the end of the driveway in a 10 man SUV idling away so their precious little snowflake doesn't get too chilly or too warm...and then the ballet of SUV's begins, as the bus picks the kid up, the SUV backs up the driveway to the house. I'm hoping other parts of the country are different. I come from a horrible generation, that is creating horribly lazy, coddled, and self absorbed kids. Yes, I know, there are exceptions. I'm not talking about them, I'm just talking about MOST of them here in NJ.

Lol. My wife says she can’t believe the way kids are these days...I have to keep reminding her that we raised them so it’s on us.

With a warning like that, maybe you shouldn't camp close to others!

Near Somerset.
Small town high atop the Allegheny mountains called Coleman, located between Friedens & Shanksville PA.
1-1/4 miles from where Flight 93 went down.

I currently live in a 5'r 3/4 of the time due to work. I work in the high plains of SE Arizona where nasty and strong thunderstorms are normal during the monsoon season. It can be concerning for sure, but my unit is grounded well and I have not experienced any water intrusion yet after living this way for over 2 years now. I have always enjoyed storms and living in the RV is just a fun way to experience all that nature has to offer.

Down here in Florida, we have camped and had weather move in where the rain can be up to 5" per hour. We have also camped in high wind conditions and some close calls with F1 terrornados when a cold front is moving through. The only bad weather that would be a reason to cancel is flooding, a hurricane moving in or a tsunami.

We went to Glacier this September for 2 weeks. We also hiked up to Avalanche Lake. What a view!
We like to hear the rain drops on the roof. It makes for very nice naps!

I look at the entire time period. If It is a day out of 3, I am fine with that. 3/3 I am canceling. I was lucky last week as I have 5 days planned for Myakka State Park in Florida. 4/5 were rain so I canceled. Lucky I did as tornado force winds hit.
Most of the time my motto is "a bad day in the camper beats a good day at work ANYTIME"

The few times that we have changed our camping plans in the past 35 years is when there is an evacuation order................... hurricane.

We have friends who have gotten rained on about 16 out of the last 18 times they've camped. So if we're camping with them, we count on rain. Since they have a pop-up, they just hope the last night is dry, so they don't have to open it up at home.

The worst day of camping is better than the best day at home.
