In appreciation

Thanks to one and all for the feedback.
Hopeful that we might make it through St Louis to Eureka.
think more realistic we will be ready to pull off I70 beforehand.
BTW
Looking at roadways, is it best to go south on 255 to get to I44 or go straight through St Louis and drop down?

Thanks for the help
thinking we will be east of St Louis when it's time to quit.
Close to I70 and easy to get in and out of

Thank you Bob
Thinking that getting West of St Louis before dark is unrealistic.
Will probably finish up just east of ST Louis off I70
Thanks for the leads

Illinois Side

Red barn is not bad no picnic tables no fire rings but for a stay over not bad And depending what time of day you are traveling on how you get to 44 Morning traffic from Illinois to St Louis is hard rush hour . 270 would be your best if after rush 9am or later just take the shortest route. And get fuel in MO much cheaper than Illinois taxes

DEFINATLY go on 270. going thru the city is harsh. 270 can be a conveyor belt during rush hour, but it's TONS better than going the other way.

I also would recommend 370 Lakeside park Just west of STL in St. Peters MO. Its new, clean and safe. Laundry, showers, all that jazz are clean and fresh. Easy on and off the Highway. Its a city park, heck they even sell beer.

Nice campground

If you are going south, on I57 to Memphis and across, there are several great Federal Campgrounds at the Sesser exit. North Marcum, North Sandusky and South Sandusky. All with electric, some with water/elec and some with full hookups. Clean and safe with paved pads.

Thanks 2 SLP2GO

Thanks for the alternatives.
Looks like the drive is much more interesting going south of I44/I40.
Have a time issue so will have to take shortest route this trip.
Will be repeating the trip in a few weeks when I have time and will definitely take the more scenic route.
Cheers

Beautiful Illinois state park near St. Louis is Pere Marquette State Park.

Thank you Maria
Like other suggestions, much appreciated.
Wondering when and where we will finish up.
11/2 hour to the Port Huron border, south on I69 then I70 hauling a Cardinal 37RLX.
Hard to get a handle on final stop off
Thanks
