Camping needs

So we just picked up our salem 32bhds friday!!! Super excited!!! We're trying to compile a list of camping needs from lanterns, to foil and everything in between- for those experienced campers- what are your must haves? Anything that we should make sure we get? Anything we can't live without?

For when you need both hands free.

Solid Rubber Wheel Chock

A grill of course and what ever fuel you need for it.

I suggest plastic ware because campin is not about washin dishes.

Can opener (my mother always forgot hers). We keep our 5th stocked all the time with plates, utensils, cookware, etc. If you can't do that use a tub or box to keep duplicate kitchen items in. So much easier than trying to remember everything. Thrift stores are good places to pick up some kitchen items.
And don't forget your pillows! Yeah...I've done that before, so now I have duplicate pillows, too!

Just camp in your driveway for a couple nights and you will soon figure out what you need as far as kitchen and bath. For the other stuff, get extra length of sewer hose and extra length of city water hose and possible extension for the power cable. Things like surge protector, leveling blocks (Anderson levelers work great), coax for any possible cable hookups (at least 25'), mattress pad, tool kit with screwdrivers, pliers, volt/ohm meter, etc. and after a few campouts you will gradually accumulate most of the stuff. Pick up some storage containers to put it all in so it doesn't slide around when you travel.

Find your power panel and see what size fuses you have. Then buy an assortment.

Roof vent cover so you can leave the vent open all the time and have fresh air in there.

I always make sure I have a tool kit. At least with the basics. And a drill motor with several bits. I'd rather have too much and not need it. Then need it and not have it.

Make sure one of your drill bits will raise and lower your stabilizer jacks.

For sure. I always had a socket set up for lowering the jacks

X2 on the surge protector plus a 30A extension.
50A to 30A dog-bone-sometimes the campground's 30A is worn & this allows you to use the 50A connector even though you are only pulling 30A...
Ladder & broom to sweep-off slide-outs before you retract them.
X2 on the tool kit. I have a small one in the TV & a larger one in the TT...

In addition to the tool kits I carry emergency triangles, reflective vest, hazard lights, 12V impact wrench, 12V extension, lug sockets, extra lug bolts & nuts, bottle jack, etc. in my TV so that I can safely change a tire on the TV or TT. I check my TT & TV lug nuts before every trip & @ 10, 25, 50 mile intervals after a tire change....

A couple neat add-ons I did right-away were adding (2) MaxxAir fans which work in push/pull fashion vs. loud A/C & a comfy Dynasty Mattress.

We camp a lot at state parks & another handy addition was a 42 gal. fresh water bladder (Camping World) & 42 gal. Barker waste water tote. With (3) kids & DW I didn't have to act as the water police on longer stays...

It's not a necessity, but I find Dutch oven cooking to be one of my relaxing camping activities. Dutch oven, charcoal, and a charcoal chimney, then o course the vittles.

Electric. ... carry 10 ga ext. Cord .
Just in case
Fuses. .... flash light for every one
Tires . For flats I carry 12 ton bottle jack. But the best one is the plastic ramp to drive the good tire on it and it lifts the flat one off the ground
Water. ... I carry a blue coil hose from CW and filter. Also I use quick connect ends .. no more having to screw the hose on
My 2 cents
