Camping season officially over.

Our first camping season is now coming to a close. We are packing up and heading home for the last time until spring. We covered over 5000 miles, camped out more than 30 nights and added 10 states to the map.

I will now winterize cover up, stare at the camper parked in our yard and pout until spring.

We have one more weekend. Last weekend of October. Be at Indian Point and going to Silver Dollar City. Can't wait. We only get one weekend a month due to our work schedules.

Our camping season will be starting the week after Thanksgiving provided the Man upstairs deems it to be. Will enjoy 3+ months in FL before going back home to Concord, NC.

Our camping season is about to restart

Our trailer gets winterized for 2 months each year.. October and April.
Had a great summer camping season in Alberta.
Now heading to Southern California/Arizona for 5 months.
Life is good.
Happy Thanksgiving Canada!

Our last outing was 2 weeks ago , now our camper is parked in the pole barn for the winter . The water has been drained but I still need to blow the lines out and add antifreeze . During the winter we like to 'barn camp' . The electric is plugged in and the house is a short walk to use the rest room .I carry a gallon of water from the house incase we want to make coffee . There are many times during the winter we close the trailer curtains-turn on the space heater and you cant tell if you are in the barn or parked outside in a campground-and the thing I like the best-cell phones don't work inside that steel building

Your trips sound great. I've never had to experience winterizing. We're from Central Texas. It's pretty much year round down here. The only problem is lots of the better parks in the larger cities and suburbs will be full during the "winter" months.

We can't make massive trips including northern states at this time, but for the most part Texas is open for business, at least Central Texas and farther south.

Sorry to hear your season is ending. Our camping is just starting to get into high gear. Most of the summer we strictly use the trailer as a portable hotel room due to the heat. It is in September as the weather cools that we start more true camping/hiking in the state parks.

Same here - we usually camp after Labor Day through Thanksgiving.

We try to use ours every month. Right now it looks like Jan and Feb will be our "winterized" months but who knows...

I have two more trips planned. One at the end of the month and then I will winterize it. I have a week planned for Florida during the week of New Years. I will de-winterize it, use it and then re-winterize it before bringing it back for the winter. This will make about 48 nights this year, the most in 4 seasons of RV'ing.

Our season ended the weekend after Labor Day. I wish we could have enjoyed some fall camping but I had to have back surgery the week after that last trip. The weight and movement restrictions put the end to that dream for this season. I can't wait for my DW to retire so that we can make a trip south to get away from the frigid weather for a while!

We joke around, that Camping season ends around first week in June, and begins right after Labor day.

Even here in OH I camp through most of Nov. Most campgrounds are closed, but we have private land and do still travel some. As long as the weather holds out, we camp! I don't winterize until the temps drop into the 20's.
