We had talked about doing a small turkey breast and the fixings if the campground we're going to isn't doing anything. Or go to a local casino and have a totally for us non traditional Thanksgiving meal. It'll be up in the air til we get there.
Where are you camping in OKLA? We will be camping out at the lake for thanksgiving. Weather will set the location. Will wait till the last min to check weather.

We've camped for Thanksgiving 3 years running, including this one.

Once at LaJitas RV Resort near Big Bend National park and Twice at Lost Maples State Park.

Four Paws Kingdom - The best kept secret for Camping with your Dog!

Check their calendar of events for all the Thanksgiving details. We've been going here for almost 11 years. But only 5 or 6 times for Thanksgiving. The meal is great.

We're heading to the Agave Gulch FamCamp on Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson. Flying a grandson in for the week, so that will be our center of operations while we keep him entertained.
Apparently, they have a big potluck for Thanksgiving, so I have to plan something portable.

We head to Riverbend campground in Hiawassee Ga. The campground fries about 4 to 5 turkeys and bakes a couple of hams. Then all the guest bring the sides. Been doing this for a couple of years and we have a blast. The people are great and the fellowship is top notch. "WE" consist of 3 three TT. Mom and Dad, my sister and brother in law and me and my wife. Plus our kids. Now we also have turned a few friends on to this place, so there will be close to 20 in our group alone. Yall have safe Thanksgiving and be safe.

Funny.

We are gonna fix lunch, eat, clean-up and leave for the lake. Will only be 2 adults and 2 kids to camp. Of course guests will meander by I assume.

We left home Friday night and arrived at my brothers house in Tennessee Saturday morning. Camped in his driveway until Monday morning and headed to Oklahoma where we are now camping in his driveway.
We love our grandchildren, but it's nice to have our own space to retreat to.

Campground where we have been for a week now will be catering a big meal for 57 rv'ers on Thursday. Campground owner is a chef. Freezing temps last 3 nights, so it really feels like Thanksgiving. Daytime highs in upper 50s.
Best holiday wishes to everyone from the foothills of NC.

We are making our maiden voyage with our brand new Rockwood 2906 WS this weekend at The Water's Edge on the Lake Okeechobee rim canal by the town of Okeechobee. This camper has been 17 years in the making and our first one. Have rented cabins in GA many times. Picked this up two weeks ago, spent one night at an RV park next to the dealer just to get familiar with it.

Super excited to try it out. It's a heckuva camper.

Great looking camper, congratulations!
Did you get the free standing dinette and swivel chairs?

Thank you! We did not order it, but the dealer "had us in mind" when they ordered it, I think. It is the Sapphire package. They went with that because with only one outside storage-the slam latch doors aren't much of an upgrade. There isn't a lot of counter space so the corian countertops wouldn't be much of an upgrade either. We prefer the regular to stainless steel appliances.

BUT.....with both slide outs out in the living room you end up with a "dance hall" in the middle of the camper. It's amazing. I much prefer that over an island. I thought I wanted an island until I walked into this. The free standing dinette is great and we got the theater seats rather than the swivels. They recline to "full nap position" and are directly across from the TV and fireplace, so swivel is not real useful and this keeps them tight to the wall.

This is outfitted exactly the way I would have wanted. Probably not the way I would have done it, and then I'd be going "wished I'd have gotten....." The dealer we got it from was great. We went there to look a couple of times and they spent hours with us just "visiting". No quotas. No pressure. Just questions and listening to us ramble about the ones we have seen over the years and what we liked and didn't like. We were about to get a 2015 2904 WS from them and he actually said "You know, if you're not in a hurry, I've got this 2016 coming in that you should probably at least look at." Definitely a different experience from the others we went to. There's a lot to be said for buying from a "mom and pop" that's been at it for 30 years.

For Thanksgiving it's probably quieter, after eating all that food they probably just pass out for the rest of the day!

Did you decide to try it?
