YES! Camp for Thanksgiving!
We are lucky have friends that have an RV site next to their airplane hanger. Perfect for us. We can go for Thanksgiving, take our dogs, enjoy the celebation, they get another room we are not taking up, for more guest, we have our own space and we get to use our RV. So fun!!

My full time RV parents started spending Thanksgiving at a popular lake in AR years ago. My brothers and I have continued the tradition. We love it. I have fried turkeys when it's 60 degrees and sometimes when it is 30 something. We follow up with a fish fry or shrimp boil on the weekend. Beautiful country during late November with great hiking trails around the camp. Now, my children and grandkids spend a long weekend with us. Great memories! Would not do it any other way.

This will be our third year camping in the FL Keys for Thanksgiving. Turkey breast goes in the crock pot & we go fishing ...wonderful way to spend the day.
Many of our friends camp with families and our backup plan would be the Sertoma Youth Ranch in Dade City, FL ....they provide the turkeys & everyone brings a potluck side dish for a huge buffet ....

This will be our 10th year camping for Thanksgiving. I think this particular holiday brings the friendliest crowd of fellow campers. More family oriented.

Camping vs Thanksgiving Weekend
We have camped the last five years on Thanksgiving with out daughter and family. They also have a camper. We have the same meal at the campground as we would at home. Sometimes the weather inner-fears a little, but we just put on more clothes and weather the storm. We love camping in our state parks. Reservations are made three months in advance to assure a spot.

We've camped the last couple thanksgivings, but it helps that up here thanksgiving is in October.
Seriously though, as long as you don't have to worry about the lines freezing (depending on where you're at) I say go for it. I'd be camping year round if the weather would just stay warm enough. Nothing says 'Family time' better than sitting around a campfire in my opinion.

We decided to do go rving for Thanksgiving this year as both kids have other obligations. It was really hard to find a place to stay but we found one in Oklahoma. Hoping the weather is not too bad. This will be our first time at a park during a holiday so it will be a new experience for us. We had talked about doing a small turkey breast and the fixings if the campground we're going to isn't doing anything. Or go to a local casino and have a totally for us non traditional Thanksgiving meal. It'll be up in the air til we get there.

This will be our second year at the Red Coconut on the beach on Ft Myers Beach. LOVE the beach! This is my first opportunity to camping after a busy summer work season, so we really look forward to it. Some of the campers there gather for a big group dinner.

We will be going to Winston-Salem NC for Thanksgiving week to finish up some estate business for my late mother. Everytime we visited there during Thanksgiving while she was alive, the weather was spectacular, but DW is worried, nonetheless. I'm not concerned. I am looking forward to it.

I'd be going to Branson thus year for Thanksgiving if my unit were not in the shop. Love the holiday atmosphere when camping and Autumn is our favorite time.

While we were rving, we always took to a campground for Thanksgiving week, great weather and kids loved it! Crowds were always lighter than normal, especially if you go where it'll be colder than usual
