The one by us in Springfield, Missouri(located in Strafford actually-9 miles east just off I-44) is a great place to pick up here & there camping items. Not too far off track for those going to Branson, passing I-44 & Hwy. 65 south. They are always busy!

Yes, it’s my understanding that Camping World has acquired Nationwide RV in Grain Valley, MO. which is close to KC. Camping World is also coming to Columbia, MO where the old Lovall’s RV dealership was located at exit 133 on I-70. Now if they would just open one near St. Louis I’d be happy.

My folks live in West St. Louis County. They can't believe it when they visit us, and there's not one but three Camping World's within 20 minutes of me.

We were at Nationwide RV in Grain Valley, MO (just east of KC) and they are becoming Camping World of Kansas City. They already have a banner up on the front of the building and the parts manager told us they were building a new place just up the road from their current location and that they would be the largest Camping World in the U.S. He also said the grand opening would be this fall.

Sorry to post old news. We just picked our Flagstaff 21FB today and I hadn't heard about Nationwide becoming Camping World. For KC area RV'ers is this considered "good news"?

The one we shop at in Denton,Tx has a couple of maintenance bays in addition to the store. They also rent out RV's.

They do it all. Retail store, maintenance shop, RV sales and rentals. Good Sam members get a discount. It will be great having a store closer to where we live. We usually hit the one just outside Springfield whenever we head to Branson.

Sounds like this will be a big Camping World. Too bad not all CW's are created equal. The one at Colfax, NC (near Greensboro) is a small one that stocks only a fraction of the stuff you'll find at the big one in Statesville. Colfax does have sales and some service, but I would never go there looking for an item without calling first. However, its location is very convenient, right on I-40.

Having a Camping World at Nationwide is the best news I've heard for a long time.

A small aside on Camping World. I was in the market for a Battery Disconnect switch, and googled. Camping World came up, and had the best price with an "Internet Special".

When I went to the product on the Camping World web site, it was listed as an Internet Special, but stated "Not Available On Line" LOL

Seems like a dichotomy to me.

When this was posted last month it was reported they had bought a closed dealership that on I-70 near Columbia, MO. Now apparently they have bought Nationwide. Confusing...

So - is Nationwide closing to become Camping World or are they moving and Camping World taking their location?? Is Camping World a franchise? It sounded above like Maybe Nationwide was just turning into a Camping World franchise. Not sure that is such a great thing, if they retain the same people. We had bad service there last summer - would never consider them for anything.

The way I understood the conversation this past Saturday, Nationwide and Camping World combined. Not sure how the business deal went down but when the new building is done and they move--Nationwide will be Camping World of Kansas City. That will leave a large empty lot sitting on the frontage road of I-70. Not sure what will become of the existing property.
