Camping World Birmingham - Calera service facility problems

Has anyone else doing business with that Alabama facility (Camping World-Calera, AL.) had as much trouble as I have had dealing with the service department. Lack of communications, warranty services shown completed but NOT done, no one knowing the status of repair or parts on order under F.R. warranty, etc...?

7 weeks in for several small concerns for the initial 90 check-up service and I had to demand to get my 2015 - Souveyor cadet - 321HHTS (bought there - cash) back for a planned trip (they were aware of) with the grandkids. I keep hearing more & more horror stories about this facility after I put my money down.

I think I should have researched this forum, and others, more before I did business there.

Not A Happy Camper

PS: Love the camper itself (as is)

Sorry to hear about your problems and good luck. I bought my Rockwood TT out of state and I think I have lucked out finding a Camping World near me in Cocoa Florida that seems to care. They have taken care of minor warranty issues and even pointed some out to me that they then fixed.

Now the Camping World in Charleston SC where I bought it is a different matter. The trailer was supposed to be ready to go the next morning after I arrived, which it wasn't. The pre delivery walk through was not complete but tolerable. The worst part was the setup. The guy that attached my hitch (already had receiver) did so in such a way as the trailer was not level. He also gave me the wrong instructions for operating the one sway bar they included. This resulted in my towing the trailer 400 miles home to Orlando with almost no sway control. I also had to point out to him that the tires were under inflated and he told me they should be inflated to 55 psi. I pointed out to him the max pressure on the tires was 50 psi. When I got home I read the directions for the sway bar and flipped the hitch over to level the trailer. If he was close by I would have kicked him in the backside. (Have since bought an Equalizer hitch which works great.) Maybe they didn't care a lot because they figured they would never see me again, turns out they are right.

If you have issues with Camping World, Marcus Lemonis has an e-mail address that goes directly to him. I don't have my contacts handy but I think you can find it on the Good Sam website. He responded to my service department concern pretty quickly.

CW Calera, Alabama: We had our Sunseeker 3170DS in for warranty work related to the swintek slide system. We will see how that works out. This relates more to CW Calera.

We had winterized our MH before leaving for service. We could tell after receiving the coach back that CW Calera had:

Used the microwave oven leaving "spray" around the oven.
Used the toilet leaving "residue" in the commode and black tank.
Connected the unit to water with the hot water plug removed. We had water standing in two external storage compartments.
Water in the house water filter housing. (drained before drop off)
The LP tank was emptied. (~50%when dropped off).

The CW Calera is ~ 2 hours drive. We did not call these issues in because we did not see a resolution worth the 4 hour round-trip drive but we will not be back to CW Calera.

My service writer told me if there is a complaint to Marcus he follows up and the service mgr and general mgr let the tech know in a not nice way. Some employees have been let go depending on what or how many complaints. So far, I have nothing but good things to say about CW Myrtle Beach. My last two units were purchased and serviced there including warranty work.
