carlisle tires...

Since everyone on here seems to hate these tires and many people have had numerous problems with them blowing out while still new, does anyone know why Forest River hasnt done a recall? This is obviously a safety issue.
Goodyear did that massive recall awhile back when tires were blowing and causing SUV's to roll over.

It would be up to Carlisle Tire Company to issue a recall, generally after the NTSB has determined there is a problem. If NTSB doesn't deem the problem is serious enough to request or require a recall, than there won't be one. Carlisle could volutarily issue one, but that is unlikely.

Forest River could just stop using them.

Everyone that has issues with equipment and they feel it's a common or a safety issue should file a complaint with the NHTSA I looked and there are 197 complaints against Carlisle tires. Some of those are not ST tires but most are. Please when filing a complaint, be precise and provide all pertinent info. I saw a lot of complaints that gave almost no details.

If they get enough complaints they may start an investigation. My feeling is that it's going to take a lot of complaints because though it's dangerous and a real safety issue. People are not getting injured and their not on passenger vehicles. I don't agree with this but injuries get the most attention.

My Grand Surveyor came with Goodyear Marathons on it so FR does use other tires.

I had Carlisle on my PUP and towed it all over the country at 70 mph without a hint of a problem. People make a lot of mistakes regarding towing. I'll bet that the bulk of the problems are self-induced. This is not to say that ALL blowout are self-induced.
