Celebrations (i.e. birthdays) while camping!

We pick up our new Rockwood in about a week or so, but have been camping with our kids (tent and then popup) for several years.

Fortunately, 4 out of 5 birthdays in our household occur in April and October. PRIME camping months. Mine falls in July... which ends up being our "hibernation" season in FL. LOL.

When we asked my daughter (7) and step-son (10) what they wanted to do for their birthdays next month, they both said camping! Yay! We'll be heading to Rainbow River SP for tubing and Hillsborough River SP for kayaking.

Each kid has asked a friend to join us, and we have actually ended up with a couple of families going with us for each trip. One family has never camped before and will be borrowing our tent. Should be interesting!

Anyways, on to my point.... what kinds of special things do you do while camping and celebrating? I've bought some themed (Rapunzel and basketball, respectively) gear for each "party". Tablecloths, plates, banner, etc. Each kid gets to pick their favorite dinner and dessert. On top of having picked the camping location and activity. Should be great times!

So glad the days of Chuck E Cheese are OVER!

We celebrated our son's 10 birthday while camping last year. The wife picked up a cookie cake from the local cookie/cake place and we celebrated with a BBQ under the awning. He loved it.

Thinking back through the past few years, I think we've celebrated at least one birthday a year while camping. With our new TT, it will make them easier to plan and pack for.

We did treasure hunts with clues. We also found great entertainment with marshmallow guns, shooting at targets or for distance. Great laughs. I was known as a magical story teller to our son. I would make up a story about something regarding the campground we were staying at...and coincidentally find a "clue" to the great mystical mystery of a tall tale I was making up...and we would go in search of..sometimes other kids joined in and other adults would add to the tale. It always resulted in laughs and a good ending.

I can only find a few pics. I know I have more, but this is last April at Hillsborough River SP. Our pup also shares his birthday with my daughter, so he's hoping for a bite of cake.

Celebrating my birthday on Flagler Beach.

LOVE this spot.

I choose camping every year as my Birthday activity. There is nothing I would rather do than camp with my family on my birthday.

Celebrated my oldest dd's b-day last July while camping. After a day of swimming, games, and fishing, we cooked her favorite camping food. Fire roasted pizza. Then i baked up a chocolate cake in a Dutch oven and then we all relaxed under the awning while watching a family friendly movie via projector and screen.
A great birthday for sure! She's been talking about it all year and is looking forward you another camping birthday this year.
