Cell Phone Numbers Go Public.....

As of this month all cell phone numbers will be released to telemarketing. If they call you there will be a charge on your cell phone bill. In order to stop them from making calls to your cell phone.....You must call this number to block them, and the number is-888-382-1222. This is good for 5 years and it is a National Do Not Call List.

Don't worry folks. Seems this is a hoax that has been circulating by Email for quite some time. See the following links. Be sure to check against these web sites when you get "alarmist" emails. I get them constantly from my mother-in-law. This is not to say that some unscrupulous telemarketers won't call you. You can add you cell to the national do not call list. I did it online several years ago, probably time to do it again.

It's been a few years since I called and registered so I just did it again this morning. I did receive a couple telemarketing calls about 2 - 3 weeks ago so maybe it's been longer than I thought. I did tell the caller I was on the Do Not Call List and he replied Sorry and then hung up.

This email has been in circulation since 2004 and is a hoax. Anytime you get an email telling you to forward it to other people proceed with caution.

The first thing I do when I get a e-mail telling me to forward it I hit the DELETE button.

All I can say is hoax, urban legend, or joke, I regisered my phnes (including my home phone) after I stsrted getting an average of one or more telemareters PER WEEK. Now I get NONE. also know from working in the telephone industry for 10+ years, numbers et sold on huge lists by ALL phone companies, UNLESS YOU PUT THEM ON DO NOT CALL. So, my advice: Put ALL your phones on the do NOT calls list.
