Lots of great campgrounds in NC, and you can enjoy them year-round.

We have a Class C, and enjoy fishing, hiking a biking whenever we're out. We also have two miniature dachshunds that go with us.

Does anyone have recommendations for campgrounds here? We'd prefer to have at least power and water hookups, but water isn't critical. Bit seems most of the SP's we've checked out are more boon docking types of places.

So, any suggestions for us? We're also always looking to meet others so anyone involved in groups?

Thanks for any help. We absolutely love it here and can't wait to get out.

What part of western NC are you wanting to know about?

Although not a campground, the Biltmore Estate is in western NC and, is well worth the time to visit and explore. It is on the pricey side but, I know that discount coupons can be found.

We have gone to the Davidson River to fish for years. The campground is in the Pisgah national Forest near Brevard, NC. Large campground with campsites along the river if you are lucky. Sections of the river are good for tubing and swimming in Summer. Lots to see in the area. This area is one of the waterfall centers of NC. We also like Julian Price Park, near Boone and Blowing Rock. There are so many good places to camp in NC it's hard to pick a favorite. You've got the Outer Banks on the coast to Mountains in the West. Have fun.

Mountain Stream RV Park just north of Marion. Small (32? Sites) superbly maintained, a lot of sites are on Buck Creek. Nice pup playground. 5 or 6 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Pretty much zero cell phone reception, they do have wifi via satellite but it's very limited. That might be a deal breaker for some but we found it peaceful!

I still haven't head what the OP considers western NC.

We stayed in western NC(Murphy) a couple weeks ago and drove all over the area. That's about as far west as you can go in NC. Just want a clarification before I give unneeded info.
