Climate controled A/C. Does it ever turn off?

So my wife and I started moving what we had from our pup to our new TT. I plugged up about an hour earlier and let the A/C run. While on the inside it got quite cool (which I like) and the wife wanted it to bump up a little and cut out the noise for awhile. So I bumped up a few degrees and could hear the compressor turn off, but the fan still ran. My thermostat only has (Fan Only, Furnace, and Cool) as options.

If I bump up say 5-8 degrees does the unit ever shut off. After about 15 minutes I bumped it back down and could hear the compressor kick back on.

This is for a 2017 Cherokee Grey Wolf Limited 26BH

Thanks

Does not sound like it.. You need an Auto fan mode so the fan turns on and off with the compressor..

I'm pretty sure "HI" was one of the options I saw. I'll double check tomorrow. I'm going through my paperwork now also.

We're just learning all of this. My wife got the walk through. I was more focused on my inspection before we signed. I probably won't have thought to ask about that anyway when the A/C was running when we picked it up. It was nearly 100 degrees that day.

... and the way to do this is to cycle through modes until you get to FAN and then use + or - to move FAN off of HI or LO and onto AU (auto).

Am I right thinking that's for a digital stat? Their's is probably one of those slide analog types that are notorious for being off 5 or more degrees either direction.

No its digital. I had it set to 72 then moved it to 76. I'm going to check the settings mentioned above. Just talked to my wife and she said on the walk through it cut off and on so I'm sure I need to move to auto. I'd read the manual I got but there is none. ..haha. other than the typical generic one.

I did get the app for the manual awhile ago though

Edit: found the thermostat pdf through the app. Yep just need to set that to auto tomorrow. Thanks everyone
