I spoke with Progressive Dynamics Technical Support. Their "Charge Wizard" system will go into float mode with the parasitic loads present. He said that in fact, you can draw quite a bit of current in float mode, as long as the increase in load is done gradually, such as turning on just one light rather than a bunch of them at once.

Make sure you buy the very best battery money can buy. Not your budget can afford. I had two batteries when I purchased our RV new. In six months they were going dead and I have a cut off switch. Factories do not install batteries, dealers do. In this economy some dealers go cheap. I have two Interstate deep cell 360 RV/boat 12v batteries.
