Coax cable question

Do any of you know if the cable connection outside our 5th wheel (Flagstaff 8528BHWS) goes to a splitter? We used a tone generator and only get a tone in main living area, but there are tv's in bunkhouse and bedroom too. Thanks!

More than likely it does but it isn't your typical splitter. It is poorly shielded and could have a broken solder on it. I would check on the back side of the wallplate with amp switch on it.

And while you are at it use a small wrench to tighten any connectors you find.

Question

When I went outside to read your responses to DH he had the plate off. Now we're trying to trace the different colored cables. The gray goes to the roof antenna and all three TVs. Any ideas about the white and orange????

I had mine torn out trying to find out why the Tailgater would not work.

No orange or white in my unit so I'm not much help there and I doubt there was any effort to follow a color code standard.

The best thing to do is remove every wall plate then you'll know what go's where. Every connection will be loose and need tightened. Replace all the garbage splitters you find with good ones and any that are on coax from satellite connections with power pass splitters.

more than likely it is a bad fitting or has a braid wrapped around it.
