My dealer doesn't know how to setup a wdh correctly.

That was my initial concern so I spoke with the service dept at the dealership. They said that 90% of all w/d hitchs they put on are rated for 800lb tongue weight, and only use the 1000 lb a handfull of times.
Thats why I moved on to other issues besides the overloading the w/d hitch.

Unfortunately WD hitches will only aid in an overloading problem, they wont completely fix it.

If the wdh was setup correctly, he wouldn't have 4" of sag. If he has a 815lbs of dry tongue weight and 1000lb bars, the bars are too light. A properly set up wdh would level car, let alone a Yukon. When the auto level was removed were heavier springs installed in place of the stock ones? This would have been a must without the auto level, otherwise you have the basic suspension of a car and lost most of your payload.

Op,
i used air shocks to assist on my wifes old '01 4wd tahoe that was leveled on the front. I never really pulled anything much, but after i leveled the front, the rear would really squat if i hooked up the boat. Most of the time i just pull the boat with my truck, but sometimes when i was pulling the camper, my wife would tow the boat. I don't think i ever added over 50 psi to them and it helped alot.
I'm kinda curious to see how the wifes new Tahoe does with the boat. Of course i haven't customized it......yet

Super springs.com have a few helper options for your vehicle. The sumo springs work great for my Tundra

You can always replace the gas shocks with air shocks. All the El Caminos had them and they worked great! Hauled a 1500# slide in over 40,000 miles using only Gabriel air shocks. The mounts were stock and held up just fine.

I've had air shocks before in an 83 Monte carlo and got about 6 months each out of two pairs- )always pays to get the lifetime warranty at Autozone)

HondaMan174- Did you order directly from super springs- when I went to their site, it didn't appear that anything could be ordered directly from them. I also saw something in the sumo line that repaces the original bump stop with a composite foam that helps support the springs-looked pretty effective as well.
Might be beneficail to call them and talk through the options.

Give them a call- they will sell direct to you. I went with the sumo spring (bump stop) one which has worked well for me. It took pretty much the entire tongue weight of my trailer as I had an issue with a bracket needing to be welded and drove to friends house without the WDH assist. My ass wasn't on the ground so that's a good thing.
