Got up this morning turned on Coleman Mach electric heat and it came on for a couple secs and shut off. I turned the thermostat up 10 degrees and nothing. The AC works fine. Breakers are all good.

It means I don't have a answer for you but want to see what the problem is so I will get email notification.

FYI, You have a heat pump system Possibly with a backup aux small heat strip that runs with the heat pump compressor. Don't know what T-stat you have so I can't help you.

The first thing I would do is to get a wiring diagram for the thermostat circuit. Possibly online, owners's manual, or wiring diagram in the unit itself.

Identify which wires control the heat function, then jumper them to eliminate the thermostat as a suspect. This can only be done if the thermostat is traditional multi-wire type. A digital thermostat only sends signals to the controller board in the HP unit, and cannot be bypassed this way.
