Just curious about where you are getting the rating information. I have not seen such a listing and have not seen any info on the Palomino website in regards to such a rating. I know of many Columbus owners who are either full timing or snow birding in their Columbus. Not sure what else I would want. The specs also fit within the towing limits of my F250. Just saying.

How would they even know if you are full time living in it? What business is it of theirs how much you use or not use your RV? I've never heard of such stipulations.

It's in the warranty documents. What you're suggesting might end up with fraud charges in major cases.

This is very informative for me...... The actual language in the warranty is "Permanent residence". That is very broad and could be interpreted many ways. Is a full timer who is on the move "permanent"?

Won't be a full timer for many years so I will have to file this in the memory banks.

By then your warranty will have expired so no warranty issue. If you get an extended warranty/service contract, you will need to let them know that you are full timing in your RV. The paper work that you should received when you get your RV will state something like for occasional use only. There are some RVs that are rated for full timing. They will be heavier and they will be the more costly ones. Many people full time in units that are not rated for full timing and when they don't last as you would want then to don't be suprised. If an RV is rated for full timing, they will brag about and will state that in their paperwork. If they are not you may have to look and little deeper into the paper work to find the occasional use only.

Permanent, Residence, Full Timing and Occasional use would have to be strictly and completely defined in the warranty paperwork or an attorney would tear the manufacturer apart.

As long as you have an address... I don't see how they could claim any warranty claim. I doubt they have a CSI team lol. They merely are attempting to scare a person away from making claims. I had a claim on my first Tt and I was NEVER broached with any usage questions.

I like the Vengeance toyhaulers. The 5er looks comfy. We are getting a TT version and was impressed with the storage options.

I hope you will do more research than just walking into the closest dealership and finding something you like. From my research, CW doesn't sell any brands I would buy. There are also RV dealers in Seguin, Boerne, and two or three near Buda.

I really liked my salesman, JJ Jackson at Crestview in Buda (but I'm not so happy with their service department).
We upgraded from a 24' TT to 33' FW. Love it. We purchased a new truck May of this year so the 1st thing Jim told me was we had to stay in a certain weight ranting for our truck.

We looked at several Houston RV Dealerships. Took our time and looked for several months. Once we found the floor plan we liked we did an online search. Found one we liked with a great price (was 5500.00 less then the local RV places and was identical RV) but the service dept is lazy or unknowledgeable. (don't know if this is a real word).

Other then that make sure to do your homework. Good luck in upgrading.

I agree. Just what constitutes "occassional use"? In order to deny a claim, the length of time must be clearly stated, otherwise its all up to interpretation. My idea of "occassional use" and your idea may be worlds apart. That would not stand up to litigation.

All they have to do is refuse to honor the warranty and force you to litigate. That's expensive. Then you would have to provide -- under oath -- potentially damaging details about your living situation. I guess it depends on your tolerance for risk.

As I stated earlier, the term "occassional use" or even "full time" can be interpreted in many different ways. If you're that concerned with warranty, have it written into your policy and pay accordingly.
