Cornerstone United extended warranty
Has anyone had a claim with Cornerstone United?
Was it positive or negative?
Please; I'm not looking to hear advise on after market warranties pro's, con's, FR 2nd year offer or turn this into a rant thread.
Thanks

Cornerstone United
We Have Cornerstone and have used the program twice. We have had no issues in them paying the claims or reimbursement issues. Make sure you follow the contract rules on hotel stays etc.

We had to use our Cornerstone Extended warranty this past week. No problems at all. I was worried since this was the first time that I had used them. I found a local RV repair shop that was able to deal with them for me. Paid the $100.00 deductible and that was all. Quick and painless for me.

Used cornerstone to replace the fuel pump on our toy hauler gas station. Only problem is I had to pay shipping for the part. Otherwise no problem.

Have used it several times, both thru a dealership and directly. In a rural area, a mobile rv guy diagnosed the problem and we got approval. FedEx the part. I paid for the part and the repair and they reimbursed me..

This is the second time that I had to use my Cornerstone extended warranty. The main AC unit in our camper stopped cooling and we called a local RV repairman. He came out and checked the unit and verified that it was not cooling. I gave him the information on my contract. He contacted Cornerstone and they agreed to replace the unit. It took three days to get the new unit in, mainly because it was on a Friday when he ordered the new unit. But he installed the new unit on Monday and all we paid was our $100.00 deductible. So far this is a good company to deal with if you just follow their procedures.

Just a follow up here.
Cornerstone did approve our claim but not in full. Had to pay my deductible and an extra $300 for the repair work. They seem to think my tech was over charging for repairs.
It was one of the most aggravating experiences I ever had with a warranty.

Sorry to hear that, sometimes these people think they are god or something, was your repair guy high? They have there bible that they go by it's like taking your car in to a dealer, they charge you what's in there book, even if it really took them half the time. Cornerstone says this it what it should take and time to do and that's all they are going to pay period. Did you at least save some money?

Did your repair guy call them and get an approval code before starting the repair? I have filed many claims for owners at my old job and if I got the approval first, I never had a problem with them paying what I charged.

Getting approval is what took so long. My fridge failed a cooling unit bypass test. There was no evidence of a leak. Cornerstone said that was a condition and not proof of a failure.
Cornerstone said they needed temp deviation in the cooling unit. Or in other words, the exact location of the blockage. Heat censor test had to be run on the cooling unit with temp reading from several places.
Dometic and rv tech were all ready 100% sure of a bad cooling unit, after all it failed a by-pass test. But that was not good enough for cornerstone.
Cs sent out an independent inspector. He took pics of each temp reading, the vin , side profile of camper , front of camper, inside of fridge.
cs allowed so much $ for a cooling unit and install but not for all the extra info they wanted in testing.
Frustrating, I read in this thread all good things about cs. My experience with cs other than they did pay something in the end, sucked! And on top of that the claims adjuster enjoyed every minute of it, thrills for him.

Yes it could have been so much worse $.
To save some money I removed the sink island cabinet and re installed it. This had to be done to get the fridge out.
Took me an hour to remove and 30 min. to re-install.
Im highly satisfied with the RV tech that work on my fridge.
I would use him again and recommend him.
