Had one years ago, I was always bad about not unhooking my friction sway control when backing into my site.
Let me add, I'm pretty anal about being straight and square in my site.
I got backed in, surveyed the situation, pulled forward a few feet to square up and finished it. Engine off, got the bars unhooked, sway control off, unhooked and pulled the truck up. I'm dropping the nose and leveling things when I hear from behind me "Couldn't help but notice you had trouble backing your rig in there."
Let me add more. I have hauled trailers for years, drove wreckers backing cars into holes that would cross your eyes. Plus, this took two shots. One to set it in there, one ten foot movement to square it up.
I turn to see this 60ish year old guy smiling at me. I said that it was tricky but looks good to me.
"Well, if you would disconnect your sway control then you'd have less trouble backing up. And it would be nice if you could practice backing so it wouldn't take so long getting in here with your diesel truck disturbing the whole CG."
I tell him that I shut the truck off soon as it was square just for that reason.
"Well my wife is quite disturbed over your truck, and who arrives at a CG at dinnertime? You've ruined our evening, and now you'll be setting up for hours making it worse."
I asked him exactly how that is? I'll need 20-30 minutes to finish leveling up, utilities and whatnot and I'll be cooking dinner shortly.
"Well, you're inconsiderate and a poor neighbor. I'm reporting you to the CG host."
My response was a result of 300 miles worth of traveling.
Well, who the f$&k are you to come to my site, criticizing my backing and tell me how bad a neighbor I am? Where is the host, lets go now.
He practically fell over his feet leaving my area, I saw the host the next day and asked if I had been reported. Nope, but that guy had reported half the CG for various things but all the same reason, it upset his wife whom nobody saw it turns out. Guy was two site over and didn't look me in the eye once even when I tried to apologize for my language.
