Creat-a-breeze

Flagstaff 23 ft. t/t has a create a breeze fan in the bathroom that stopped working.
There is what appears to be a thing that looks like a resistor underneath a screen that may be defective ( a rain sensor????). When I short out the leads to this, the fan works. My multimeter shows 12v across the leads.

Any ideas?

Might be a built in fuse? Have you checked?

If accessable, check the wires connecting the sensor.

the windings you see are resistors for the different speeds. I had a problem with the activation switch that turns the fan on when you open the hatch. It's accessible from the roof. The switch is the ground for the motor.

Fuse is good and the fan works on all speeds if I create a short across the leads to the thing that may be a rain sensor.

I guess my question is "is this a rain sensor and would there be any long term damage if I just connected the leads permanently"

I would think you'd have no problems....But, first I'd give the company a call. I've delt with them in the past and they did everything possible to be of service.
