Cruel & Inhumain Treatment

This winter here in Western NY has been anything but normal. Temps so far avg. 40 with 30 at night. Only about 2' of snow totally, plowed driveway only 3 times. There's been more grass then snow. It's been the 3rd warmest in history so far. So here comes in the mail yesterday our 2012 Resorts of Distinction camping directory. DW's trying to find anyplace to camp now. At the earliest up here it's the 15th of april before we'll be able to go.

We moved from Western NY about 25 years ago. I remember winters where we had snow cover from late November through March. At least you don't have to worry about snow on the trailer roof!

I think everyone is hankering to get out. That is one reason the forum has so much activity - everyone is biding their time.

Same here where we live.Last week has been the most winter yet,-10 C in the day and -16 C at night.Supposed to get above 0 with rain tomorrow so the 15cm of snow on the ground should mostly melt. That is when you really get the urge to go camping, but the earliest we will probably get out will be 1st weekend in May.

I'm loving it I've done the driveway once this winter only thing that annoys me is it's my first winter being retired, when I worked I was clearing two feet of snow every other day.

It's been nice not shoveling. That's about it. My son is in Boy Scouts and their Klondike Campout last weekend was a mud fest. No sledding. The yard isn't freezing much and our Old English Sheepdog holds a lot of mud. Then we get some of these weekends and I tell the DW that we have been out camping on colder weekends.

I have moved our tractor 4 times since Nov and that has only been to put new 1300 lb hay bales in the feeder for the horses and clean the corral. I actually pulled the blower off today as I needed to use a blade out back. It was +7 here today and sunny.

been in the 40's here- felt the sun today
I guess you can blame me for the weather- the snow blower broke so I got another one (used it 2 times).

Malco, where abouts in the province are you? I am in Halifax and other than a light dusting of snow last night and some remnants from the last bit of snow we had a week ago, there is nothing really here.

I am on Cobequid Bay half way between Truro and Windsor. We have had enough snow for snowmobiling for about a week now.
