I appreciate everyone's input, certainly did not mean to incite a riot, LOL! I am running 18 inches of number 4 wire between the 2000 watt invertor and my batteries. With all this great info I think I'll give it a try and see what shakes out. With respect to running the generator, they are simply to loud! Merry Christmas to all and thanks.

I kind of like my Yamaha generator with remote start, runs everything that I need to quite well. I did install a inverter several years ago for the television and have not used it much. when we are boon docking we are not in the 5th wheel much

Alright, I was a farmer for most of my life and you know a farmer can make anything work. I did make that 1500 watt inverter work for only about 13 years. Oh well that's what a lack of education does to you.
