D.S.I. fault light

On my switch panel, my D.S.I. fault light comes on (red light) when I turn on the electrical heater. I only have the RV hooked up to 110 volt power. The water heater does work electrically. It only comes on when the hot water heater is turned on. I think I remember it coming on also hooked up to 30 amp service but not sure. It may have done this since new but do not remember. Is this normal? If not, where do I begin troubleshooting. I have a Flagstaff ultra light 5th wheel.

Edited to add: I did have the switch panel off and replaced the water pump switch. The light was not working on the switch. I am positive all wires were put back as before.

Does your panel look like this one or does it have an integrated AC ON/OFF button in addition to the DC/Propane one (some do).

PROBLEM SOLVED- The propane gas was turned off. AS soon as I opened up the propane and purged the lines the water heater started and the light went out.

I was thinking I had done something with the panel while changing switch, only to find that I was having a brain Faaaart. Thank you Herk, for jumping in here to help.

Sometimes when you troubleshoot a problem you need to start at the source and work towards the device. Working backwards can send you down some dark alleys.
