Thanks for posting this. Hopefully as you stated, others may be more alert after this tragedy...and install/check a carbon monoxide detector.

We had a few deaths around the region after Sandy from people running a generator too near to their home. We have a CO detector on each floor at home and test the one in the trailer before each trip.

That is just such an avoidable tragedy. Sorry to read that. It's food for thought. I have seen that happen from exhaust on boats before. The air is sucking the fumes through the open cabin door. Becareful you people with generators. Stay safe....

Sad Story for sure. I have often wondered about this while attending racing others have stated a CO detector is a must no matter if your rig is new or old.

Woo, Lord! My heart stopped for a minute. My Uncle Kevin goes to Talladega every year. Haven't heard back from him yet, but after reading the article, I know it's not him!

Sad, sad story, sadder still it happens way to often.

Not quite a year ago a young Marine was killed in Boise by a faulty gas water heater, he was 18.

We will be at the Phoenix International Raceway in 3 weeks and thought about staying in the campground outside the raceway, but decided to go with a year-round RV park about 10 miles away. Our son is camping with friends in the infield. Now he's going to think I'm smothering when I forward this story and tell him to be extra careful.

Happiness is just a ride away!
