Hello all,
Looking for the appropriate size dehumidifier for this winter in Pennsylvania. 30' Salem on a permanant site, will be using most of winter. Any other advice on moisture removal would be appreciated!
Be aware most dehumidifiers ( compressor driven) do not work well below 40F. I use a 30 pt in mine when temp is above 40. I run the drain into the shower and dump grey tank once every 2 wks. I ran a separate #10 20ft extension cord so I do not have to leave converter plugged in ( lots of storms).

I have a 30 pint from Sears. A little larger than necessary. Has adjustable humidity settings and 2 fan speeds. Our winters are not extremely cold but very humid and lots of water in the air with people and especially when using propane. If you have sewer you can let drain in the sink with dump valve open.

I didn't want another appliance that I had to deal with/dump. I go to Dollar Tree and buy the generic Damp Rid containers for $1 each. We are in a 25' Class C. I put one in the bathroom, closet and cab floor. I put one in a bay that has propane bottles and bug sprays, etc. I change them as needed. Usually about every 4 months.

After trying 2 DriZair containers (similar to Damp Rid) I found they don't remove enough moisture (Live in Orlando the most humid place on earth). They would probably work in a small room or closet. I decided to order the one below. It can be drained into the tub and can be set to shut off at a selected humidity level. I will post a review later.
I too run a Sunpentown SD 65e dehumidifier. Although large it does a great job. We run it mostly when the ceramic heater is operating. It has worked every well for three years now.
