just saw the forecast for today and we can expect 6-8 inches, this winter has been brutal on us, most snow in history, coldest temps in history. Last year I used my snow blower 2 times, this year 6 times and It does not get pulled out of the garage unless their is 4 inches of fresh.... It is also too cold to ride the snowmobile

I so remember the '78 blizzard. Where shoveling became a huge issue because one would have to toss the stuff 5 or more feet up to get it on the side of the walkway. I keep telling my kids that winters back then had tons of snow and bitter cold. This is the first really cold winter my kids, nieces and nephews have seen. I'm still loving it! I love my wool socks and sweaters. A few years back we had a record snow fall for the season 100" +. I have a very long sheet of paper marking each snow fall. It starts at the floor and goes up onto the ceiling when we hang it up. At least that year it melted between storms. It has been such a pretty winter. I really haven't seen dirty snow this year. IMO if the trees are bare and everything looks dead, you might as well have snow. It makes it not look depressing.

IIRC, we got 26" of snow one day and the Moline police dept got on tv and ask for all snowmobilers to go out on the streets and get stranded people and take them home. We (20 of us)patrolled the streets for about 8 hrs and had a blast going down the main drags 60-80 mph after taking folks home. We were out all night and until about noon the next day before the police ordered us off the streets.

I'm a freak though I love the cold. I'd much rather have single digit temps than 90+ temps. I predict that spring is going to pop up out of nowhere. It's going to get warm, the snow will melt as the crocus' start to push out of the ground, and all in two weeks time.

I hope you're right about spring in two weeks. We have had cold temps and a snow storm every 2 0r 3 days since the end of November.

We've got a bunch here in Meadville...that darn puddle about 30 miles to the north (Lake Erie) thankfully has frozen over so that helps with the lake effects, but we're getting this crap up from the south, that just keeps coming! This winter has definitely been one of the more intense in recent memory, possibly since the great blizzard of 94, but I was 9 when that happened, so my memory may not have been attuned to that...

If I lived up north I would never own a camper. Camping time is limited, I like to camp year round.

I ran the A/C in my Jeep Friday....strange thing....there was still ice on the ground up under the edges of the pampas grass where sun didn't hit it and it was HOT in the Jeep!

Ran my A/C here in the S&B today too...temp was 77*. Messed around out in the 5er for a while today and had to turn on the ceiling fan and the max fan.

SEAUX glad this winter's about over for us. It's been long, cold and dreary. The back yard's still a muddy mess after the ice storm but with a couple more days like this it'll dry up quickly. And then come July when it's triple digits temperatures I'll be wishing for a day of cold.

10x, wouldn't you agree that having a camper and being able to camp April thru October is better than not being able to? Nothing wrong with living in the north....you just take up a hobby like downhill skiing to pass the time when the white stuff is flying!!

Grew up just outside Newmarket Ontario. Still have long life friends there and they camp and ride their Harley's. Difference is they ride them and camp in Florida. And a shout out to my Keswick buddies to eh?

Well, I can't make you feel any better about the weather ~ but! ~ I can tell you it's a bit challenging to pay snowbird prices to camp right now. We're more "priced out" than "snowed in". Thankful for county parks.....
