Never noticed a lack of diesel availability ANYWHERE in the US.

Though we are "blue highways" folks......the best place to find a variety of sources is where two interstates cross.

Use my GS black card at Pilot/FlyJ along with PenFed card and I am about 15 cents per gallon under pump price.

Talking to anyone.

I am having to get in line with the big boys to get diesel. I don't fit anywhere else. Most of those pumps don't allow 'normal' credit card usage for pay at the pump. Most allow these kind of trucker cards.

I know nothing about them. I'm trying to figure out how to stop going in to give credit card, going back out to pump, etc....... thought this might work.

Truck Cards

I have Pilot Card through the Good Sam club. Get discount at Pilot and works great at the pump. Just have to pay off every month. Pilot doesn't let you carry a balance. The card works at both the truck car pumps. Good Sam members can get card at the Pilot web site.

Here in South Louisiana the small "Stop And Rob" stations don't have diesel but almost all the the larger stations do.

When you get really rural, like a community that consists of a few houses, a church and a country store, the country store has diesel too.

We've got plenty of diesel. We even have electricity and most stations have indoor plumbing.

Cute

But his question does aptly show the misconceptions of the Rural Southern US as portrayed by the mainstream Media. And that does not endear the media to us southerners!

In Georgia if you get away from the interstates and in agricultural areas you will find two different flavors of diesel. There's road diesel and agricultural diesel. They are taxed differently. The pumps are usually clearly marked and the color of the the fuel is different. You don't want to get caught with agg diesel in your tanks. Big time fines. That's the reason for the different colors.

No tax on the agricultural diesel

Diesel is at nearly every fuel stop here, (Louisiana) including many Walmarts and convenience stores.

Thanks Everyone

It sounded like a dumb question when I typed it, but I had to ask... I was starting to believe the guys up the street that I was talking to.. Now I have the evidence to put their concerns in the dumpster..

Thanks again everyone..

No...no problem at all and we've been about everywhere in the SE. One word of advice: Install "Gas Buddy" on your phone and set it to show Diesel when traveling. You are never far from a station selling diesel.

Anyone can use the truck lanes without a fleet card. You note the lane/pump number, go inside to the cashier, authorize an amount on your card, go pump, and the card is only charged for what you pump. Pull up to the next (wait) line and go inside to pick up your final receipt. Easy.

No problem in Arkansas, Texas, or Louisiana that I have personal knowledge of, and haven't heard of problems anywhere else. Diesel is plentiful and available everywhere in the US.

Yes sir. And I have. But in many of those stations, the truck lane allowed a 'pay at the pump' card........but NOT a regular credit card. Had to be a Fleet Card of some time. It was that situation I am trying to figure out. Waiting in line is one thing. But to keep from going in is another. In one spot in Georgia, the pumps were about a 1/4 mile from the store.....literally.

Sounds like I'm whining about walking but we had a 7 year old and it made it harder.

Just something I am exploring, trying to make it easier.

I travel R95 from south FL to VA and a bit further and have always been able to find diesel, although a few stations do not have it. My challenge is finding the diesel stop where I can maneuver the 40' FW.

Avoid Love's if you do not like pre pay. Pilot and Flying J take Visa at the pump. No receipts most of the time. Take a photo of pump $$ as your record.

Keep on roll'n 👍
